Education Knowledge Translator

Overview
ANFCA is seeking a Education Program Knowledge Translator to work with both the Education Program Coordinator, member Friendship Centres, and the Senior Leadership Team to develop and implement the means to synthesis, disseminate, exchange qualitative and quantitative data using an ethically-sound application of Indigenous success indicators and Indigenous wisdom-seeking practices including the knowledge translation of first voice stories into data and measure key performance Indicators (KPI’s).
Location: Edmonton, AB
Responsibilities
- Work closely with team members to plan, develop, and implement educational and data collection strategies.
- Support member Friendship Centres in Educational data collection, stories, and other reporting needs.
- Support the development and creation of targeted education resources to support member Friendship Centres including research and literature reviews.
- Build compelling narrative around data insights using storytelling techniques to engage stakeholders and help them understand the significance of findings.
- Use data visualization tools such as charts, graphs, and infographics to help illustrate findings and make them accessible to various audiences.
- Create actionable recommendations based on insights from analysis and evaluation.
Requirements (or Qualifications)
- Post Secondary Degree in a related field.
- Demonstrated research and data collection coordination experience (a minimum of five years; more is preferred); experience having worked with Indigenous communities is an asset.
- Software Usage Proficiency: Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office capability including Teams and digital meeting platforms.
- Sector Knowledge an Asset: Familiarity with Indigenous communities and Indigenous knowledge exchange is considered an asset.
- Professionalism: Ability to portray a superior level of professionalism and adhere to a strict policy of confidentiality.
- Self-motivated and collaborative: Capable of demonstrating independence and positive team collaboration.
- Communication Skills: An excellent communicator with strong written and verbal skills.
- Analytical and Decision-Making Skills: Strong conceptual and analytical skills, with the ability to recognize as well as assess emerging issues and situations objectively, think creatively outside the box, and make sound decisions; is decisive and accountable.
- Organizational and Project Management Skills: Has strong organization and process skills; meets deadlines; is able to prioritize a diverse workload and manage multiple projects at once; has keen attention to detail, accuracy and quality.
- Interpersonal and Relationship Building Skills: Approachable, with the ability to build trust and respect, cultivate strong positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders including member Friendship Centres.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion with an understanding of both the Friendship Centre Movement and the rich and diverse Indigenous cultures that are present in Alberta.
