Day of Friendship
Celebrating Unity, Strengthening Bonds
The Day of Friendship embodies the spirit of connection and collaboration that unites communities and fuels the Friendship Centre Movement. This special day honors the vibrant programs, cultural richness, and unwavering support Friendship Centres provide to urban Indigenous peoples. Together, we celebrate the power of friendship to inspire hope and create meaningful change.
ANFCA and member Friendship Centres commemorate the Day of Friendship each year on the first Friday in June. What began as the ‘Walk for Friendship’ in 2010 evolved into the ‘Day of Friendship’ in 2017.
This provincial celebration honours and celebrates the spirit of friendship that binds communities and the Friendship Centre Movement together and recognizes the culturally rich and vibrant programs and services delivered by member Friendship Centres supporting Urban Indigenous Peoples.
