Finance Coordinator

This job is classified as full-time (37.5 hours/week) and is a funding-based position.

Overview

The candidate will work in consort with the CFO to maintain financial accountability requirements of the ANFCA.

  • Ensure accuracy of quarterly reporting.
  • Assist Friendship Centres with their reporting, forecasting, and budget amendments.
  • Work daily in Teams to ensure documents are saved, filed, and shared appropriately.
  • Keep track of timelines of reporting and past-due reporting.
  • Communicate directly with Friendship Centres to support them in their reporting.
  • Assist in creation of contract documents pertinent to funding (ie. Contribution agreements, payment letters, updated cashflow templates, etc.) as needed.
  • Other related duties as directed by the CFO and CEO.

Location: Edmonton, AB

Responsibilities

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 products, specifically Excel and Teams
  • Possess at least three years’ accounting / financial knowledge, terminology and how to use accounting software (Sage50).
  • Capacity to quickly learn software.
  • Ability to foster effective working relationships within a team environment.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and schedule demanding work assignments.
  • Develop and maintain efficient and effective recordkeeping systems and procedures.
  • Possess advanced verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess a working knowledge of financial cashflows, budgeting, forecasting and other financial documents such as income statements and balance sheets.
  • Ability to gather and research relevant data, compile information, and prepare reports.
  • Knowledge of urban Indigenous Friendship Centre Movement, structure, and processes will be considered an asset.

Requirements (or Qualifications)

Post Secondary degree, diploma, or certificate in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or related equivalencies; at least three years of accounting and/or finance experience that relates to the duties and responsibilities specified.
