Alberta Native Friendship Centres Association (ANFCA) is dedicated to

strengthening and supporting our member Friendship Centres across the province. Through a comprehensive range of core functions and strategic initiatives, we work tirelessly to advocate for Friendship Centres, build capacity, and foster self-determination. Our efforts ensure that Friendship Centres are well-equipped to provide vital programs and services, making a tangible difference in the lives of urban Indigenous individuals and families.

Communications

ANFCA develops and shares culturally informed resources and information. We act as a knowledge broker and offer centralized communication and public awareness for the Alberta Friendship Centre Movement.

Contract Management & Reporting

ANFCA systematically manages contract creation, execution, stewardship, and analysis of funding agreements and Contribution Agreements across multiple funding streams.

Operations & Finance

ANFCA ensures prudent financial stewardship, integrity and efficiency, and provides a stable foundation that empowers ANFCA to serve and represent member Friendship Centres across the province.

Data-Driven Decisions

ANFCA collects crucial data to enable evidence-based decisions, drive innovation, and improve organizational outcomes for ANFCA and member Friendship Centres.

Capacity Building

ANFCA strengthens the capacity of the Association and member Friendship Centres through culturally grounded training, resources, and support. We also lead regional program and service framework development and administration when appropriate.

Advocacy & Representation

ANFCA works to build and maintain strong relationships with all levels of government and undertakes research, conduct consultations, and affect policy development. We advocate for Friendship Centres, build relationships, and advance information on urban Indigenous people and the vital role Friendship Centres play in their lives.

Governance

ANFCA works to empower effective community governance which is fundamental to representing urban Indigenous peoples’ rights and managing local services, programs, finances, human, and cultural resources, as well as relationships with governments and other groups.

Fund Development

ANFCA is committed to securing the vital resources necessary to empower our member Friendship Centres. We strategically cultivate and nurture relationships with diverse partners and funders, ensuring a stable financial foundation that allows member Friendship Centres to deliver essential programs and services, strengthening their capacity to serve urban Indigenous communities across Alberta.
